Dubicko

About company

The village lies in the foothills of Hrubý Jeseník on the route from Zábřeh to Úsov, in the Úsovská Highlands, which flows west from the valley floodplain of the Morava River. The name of the village is derived from doubí, dubina, ie from the oak forest. The cadastre of the village was intensively inhabited in prehistoric times in the older and younger Stone Age. During the Lusatian culture, there was a settlement with a burial ground south of the village. In written sources, Dubicko is mentioned for the first time as early as 1253. Local monuments include the Catholic parish church of the Exaltation of St. Crosses with one of the oldest bells in the Zábřežsko region from 1476.
