Hladké Životice lies southeast of the town of Fulnek. Northeast of the village lies the town of Studénka, southeast of the town of Nový Jičín and southwest of Suchdol nad Odrou. The first written mention of the village comes from 1324. To the east between the village Hladké Životice and Pustějov is built a small reservoir. The village is surrounded by fields, just at the southern edge of the village is a small grove. At present, the municipality, which has about 1,000 inhabitants, has good civic amenities. It is gasified, connected to the public water supply, there is a primary and kindergarten and several private companies that provide jobs for some locals.
