The village of Prlov lies 14 km south of Vsetín in the valley of the Vizovice Highlands. Prlov is first mentioned in 1361 as part of the property of the Vizovice monastery. The core of the foothill village Prlov is spread around Prlovský brook and Pozděchůvka, many homesteads are scattered on clearings. The highest point of the cadastre is the Široká peak (645 m above sea level). The natural monument Prlov consists of 3 separate localities - two flowery orchid meadows and a deciduous forest. Another natural monument is Neratov Pond. At present, the village has a public gas pipeline, post office, public library, cultural facilities, multipurpose and football field, grocery store and groceries and hospitality.
