Pustějov with about 1,000 inhabitants lies 4 km southwest of the town of Studénky. The area around Pustějov was most probably inhabited as early as the Iron Age, when one of the routes of the amber road from Greece to the Baltic Sea led through today's cadastral territory of the village. The village was probably named after its locator - the founder Pustěj during the Slavic colonization at the end of the 12th century or in the first half of the 13th century. The village of Pustějov belongs to the Poodří Protected Landscape Area and in its cadastre there are many hitherto unknown nooks and crannies with the occurrence of various interesting species of animals and flora. The village of Pustějov has good civic amenities, the village has a primary and kindergarten, 3 sports facilities.
